Movement is an experience shared by all humans. In my photofilm, Where Is Home, I explore the idea of “home” through my experience of moving and settling in different countries – USA (Los Angeles), Indonesia (Jakarta), and the United Kingdom (Manchester). 

During the pandemic, most of us were not free to travel. The extra time helped me reflect on what is important in my life and often contemplated the meaning of a “home”. Thus, the images I present are from my ongoing search for that “perfect” home.

While my neighbors and friends sought for safety, I took the risk to wander into the uncertainty. And as I write this, I am still not fully settled in this new place. But, will I ever be? The project is presented as a mixed-media piece, combining video, photo, soundscape and narration. With that in mind, I leave you with this – how do you see your relationship with space and when or how does it transform into a “home”?
